Vietnam's northern mountain ranges are breathtakingly beautiful, rich in cultural diversity and great fun to explore.
Sapa is the focal point for mountain travel in Vietnam, and is a riot of colour and atmosphere as people from the myriad ethnic minorities of the hills gather in the markets.
The 'Flower Hmong' wear rainbow-coloured smocks, while the Red Dao's traditional costume is a more muted indigo but topped off with a bright red headdress. When all of the mountain people congregate, the result is a feast for the eyes and the senses.
In the evening transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for the overnight train to Lao Cai, the gateway to Sapa.

Early arrives at Lao Cai station at approximately 6:00 am. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km but it takes around 1.5 hours. On they way to Sapa, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the terraced hills and mountains
Once at Sapa, we will check-in hotel (Early check-in subject to availability). Breakfast and refresh at the hotel or take a stroll around the town nearby your hotel. It is here you will see local people - hands stained by color from fabric dyes , jackets, waistcoats, pants, skirts, caps, purses and leggings are embroidered by red, blue and many other colourfull pattern.
At 10 a.m. Take a morning walking tour of Sapa for a visit to Silver waterfall. Walk up to the higher elevation of Ham Rong Mountain to see the 100 meters high, white water fall poured down the stream. Take a drive about 2 kilometers to Tram Ton Pass and to Heaven's Gate. Enjoy the spectacular natural beauty with tapetry forest, soaring Mountain and the terraced rice fields. From Heaven's Gate return to Sapa by your vehicle. En route, visit O Quy Ho where a range of variety vegetable, fruits and medicinal planted. TRansfer back to your hotel in Sapa
and at leisure . Overnight stay in Sapa
Have breakfast then drive to visit a local market (Ban Cam on Tuesday/ Cao Son on Wednesday/ Lung Khau Nhin on Thursday / Can Cau on Saturday/ Bac Ha on Sunday) The market offers a variety of local products not be found in others areas such as an interesting animal market where pot-bellied pigs, cows and buffalos are gathering to be sold or exchanged.Continue walking shortly to a hill-tribe village then experience the cultural daily life of locals here then transfer back to Lao Cai. In Lao Cai, you will have to use a hotel room for freshening up before the get on the night train. Overnight in a soft sleeper compartment on train.
Arrive Hanoi in the early morning in Hanoi then transfer to your hotel or to the center of Hanoi for your leisure time untill the onward departure
