This tour take you to My Tho city in Mekong delta. My Tho is now a bustling port city in the Mekong Delta. The area is the final destination of the Mekong River which runs from Tibet, China, Burma, Laos, Cambodia and finally Vietnam. It’s incredible that this fertile region contributes approximately half of Vietnam's total agricultural output. Life for villagers in the area is around the rivers and canals that make up the delta, there families who live on the water surface for generations.
Enjoy the local boat cursing through small islands and the winding creeks shaded by coconut palm. Visit the hoe’s factory where the local produce made with the traditional method such as: coconut candy, brick, bamboo basket, water hyacinth furniture… Taste the local honey tea and tropical fruit in the garden, have lunch with local specialties “elephant ears“ and meet the local friendly people.
In the morning, depart from your hotel to My tho city with a 2hour drive in an air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival My Tho, embark on a private boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. The boat will anchor in island with lush tropical gardens where you'll discover the local daily life, meeting up with local people, sample tropical fruit. Your journey is continuing to another island in the Mekong Delta to learn more about another cottage industry, coconut candy. If you are lucky, you will witness the fish catching by traditional bamboo trap, or local people climbing to the coconut tree … Take a short journey by local traditional vehicle called “Xe Loi (motorized cart)” or by horse cart to a bee farm, taste the honey tea, then you'll transfer to a smaller rowing boat allowing you to get deeper into the smaller canals of the Delta. Cruise back to the pier and then driver back to Ho Chi Minh city. Have Lunch I local restaurant on the road.
