Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City (L, D)
In the morning, your guide will meet you at the hotel than lead you to a local market where you learn about local ingredients and buy vegetables, spicies and other ingredients for your home cooking class. Practise your bargaining skill to get the good price of your purchase.
From the market, go to your homestay, meet with the hostest, have a cup of of tea and fruit then take a short rest in your room before your cooking lunch instructed by the hostest.
This is a lifetime experience that you learn about the Vietnamese cuisine and gain more skills of cooking. Have lunch with the food you cooked then take a short nap.
In the afternoon, discover Saigon as a local with a honda or a bus roaming around city. First stop is at a local coffee shop to have a cup café in the Saigonese style. Next, explore the variety of Vietnamese streetfood stalls in Saigon. You may stop at Banh Xeo (Southern Vietnamese cripsy rice pancake ) where you learn how to roll this rice pancake in a large mustard green leaf, or visit a Hue ‘s speciality food stall. Hue is the old Royal city of Vietnam located in the Central. Hue’s cuisine is famous with Com Hen (rice with mussels), Bun Bo (Hue style beef noodle soup) and many kinds of steamed rice cake coved by banana leaf. Continue with Hanoi style grilled pork with vermicelli called Bun Cha – a typical favourist dish of Northen people. Tasting all those delicious food, even with a mall bite of each, you may be filled up for dinner.
Continue to visit the flower Market Back to your home stay to prepare and cook a Saigonese sweet dessert “Che chuoi” – a seet banana soup cooked with coconut milk.
In the evening, Roam around the local’spot such as Nguyen Hue walking street where you will see youths, families, children enjoy their leisure time outdoor, or drop by the beer clubs on the river banks have some drinks with top DJ playing the colorful laser lighting. Overnight in your homestay in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
Enjoy breakfast as local with a bowl of “Phở”, a very popular Vietnamese noodle in one of the most famous Pho Noodle shop in city. After breakfast, take a stroll through the mall alleys where the real local daily life activities revealed. You may stop by a kindergarten to see the kids in the initinal stage of their school (one working days)
Experience a lunch in the longest time operated rice stall of Saigon. Come here you will witness a very unique way of doing business : No menu –No price indicated.All of cooked food placed in the stall, guests come and point out the dishs the want then food will be served at their table. After finishing their meal, the money collector comes and anounces the amount to pay, guests will pay without any questions. After your lunch, it’s time to unwind at a local hair salon with shampoo and facial massage. Return to your local house, say goodbye to your host and back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. End the tour.
