DAY 1 - PAKSE - CHAMPASSAK - WAT PHOU: Lunch \ Dinner

Pakse – Champasak (30 km): 1.5 hour by boat

Depart from Pakse in the early morning heading south to embark on a local longtailed riverboat to Champasak; enjoy a riverside lunch.

After lunch, visit the 10th century pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Phou. As a UNESSCO World Heritage Site, Wat Phou is a stunning pre-Angkorian temple that located in the middle of the rice field and the waterways of Southern Laos. It was once famous as the most important center in the region for its economic and political development and still is one of the Lao people’s most revered temples nowadays.

After the tour, move on to experience some samples of French colonial building in Champasak and then leave to return to the boat for a relaxing cruise down-river, enjoying the beautiful sunset view over the waters before dining on cruise. Overnight on board.


DAY 2 - HOUAY TOMO - OUM MUANG - KHONG ISLAND: Breakfast \ Lunch \ Dinner

Champasak – Houay Tomo – 4000 islands (100 km): 6 hours by boat

Have breakfast on board while the cruise en route to Houay Tomo, home of the marvelous hidden forest temple of Oum Muang.

After that, re-embark for lunch while sailing onwards to the further south direction to reach the famous “4,000 Islands”. In the meantime, stop and visit a traditional Lao Village – Ban Dua Tae, before continuing to Khong Island.

In Lao language, Si Phan Don means “4,000 Islands”, this mesmerizing area located along the Lao and Cambodian border for over 14km.

After visiting the islands, re-embarking the cruise as dinner will be served and guests will spend their nights on board.


DAY 3 - KHONG ISLAND - KHONE PHAPHENG – PAKSE: Breakfast \ Lunch

Khong Island – Khone Phapheng (25 km): 2 hours by boat
Khone Phapheng – Pakse (130 km): 1,5 hours

Enjoy breakfast on board while sailing to the small village of Ban Veuthong, from there, transfer to a smaller longtailed boat for en route to Don Khone Island.

Introducing Don Det and Don Khone, two of the very undeveloped islands, located on the border of Strung Treng province in Cambodia and Laos. These islands have played and significant role of Indochina by linking the three countries: Laos, Southern Vietnam and Cambodia during the French Colonial stage. In the past, in order to cross the waterfalls it happened to have a railway bridge in which was built by the French and nowadays has contributed to the unique ambience of the place and the surroundings.

Return to board a longtailed boat travelling back to the mainland. Lunch is served at an old French-colonial place and also a former customs-post. Last stop is Khone Phapheng waterfall in which close to the Cambodian border. Experience the awe-inspiring views of the waterfalls via a wooden-built hut.

After the visit, travel 2 hours overland back to Pakse, arriving in the afternoon at around 15:00.
