DAY 1 - VIENTIANE - ARRIVAL

Vientiane Airport – Vientiane (4 km): 15 min

Our tour guide and driver will greet you at the airport upon arrival to take you to the hotel for check-in and relax.

In the afternoon, visit the Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe. Climbing to the top of the monument where you will be wowed with the amazing panoramic views of the city. Afterwards, pay a visit to That Luang, the holiest site in Laos.

Stay the night in Vientiane.


DAY 2 - VIENTIANE - CITY TOUR - LUANG PRABANG (B/L)

Enjoy reakfast at the hotel then begin your journey of discovery through the hidden charms of Vientiane. The first gem will be the serene Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital. Continue to see the large collection of religious artworks from both Khmer and Laos at the Wat Phra Keo museum. Near by the museum is the Presidential Palace, a unique glimpse into the colonial history of Vientiane (viewed from the outside).

Next stop, a visit to Wat Simuang, the most popular and venerated temple in Vientiane.

Enjoy delicious traditional Laos cuisine at Lao Kitchen for lunch.

After lunch, visit COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. At COPE, you will know in-depth information about the history of the American/Vietnam war and the lasting impact of unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the area, along with the efforts of local the government with help from others to clear them.

After COPE, our guide and driver will take to the airport for the flight to Luang Prabang.

Upon arrival to Luang Prabang, tour guide and driver will await to greet and transport you to the hotel for check in. Enjoy the remain of the day at your own pace.

DAY 3 - LUANG PRABANG - CITY TOUR (B)

(Breakfast included)

After breakfast, begin the city tour with a visit to the National Museum, formerly Royal Palace to have an in-depth information into the history of Laos. Continue walking to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief, and Wat Sensoukarahm, which features a beautiful dazzling golden façade. End the morning tour at Wat Xieng Thong, Laos’ most photographed temple.

Break for lunch (not included).

In the afternoon, visit Wat Visoun, the holiest temple of the city. Move on to visit the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre, a museum dedicated to exploring the rich diversity of Laos’ ethnic minorities. The museum’s display features traditional costumes, tools and artifacts alongside in-depth descriptions and written histories.
(Note: closed on Monday).

In the evening, take part in one of Laos’ oldest traditions: The Baci. The purpose of the Baci, which is a mix of Animist and Buddhist beliefs, is to call back escaped spirits to the body. This is an important ceremony held before major events such as weddings, births, travel, welcoming friends and farewells.

DAY 4 - LUANG PRABANG - KUANG SI WATERFALLS (B)

Luang Prabang – Kuang Si (32 km): 1 hour (Breakfast included)

Watch the monks collecting alms at dawn (optional activity for early risers). As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents.

After breakfast at the hotel, transport by car to the Kuang Si Waterfalls. Visit a small ethnic village on the way to learn about the local traditions and customs that has remained steady for centuries.
Upon arrival to Kuang Si Waterfall, you will see the jungle and dense woods surrounding the falls are perfect for exploring on foot. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where stunning views await. The pools at the base of the waterfalls are also great for swimming (please dress modestly).

On the way back, visit to the Free the Bears sanctuary (optional), housing 23 Asiatic Bears that were rescued from poachers. An additional visit can be made to the Kuang Si Butterfly Park, housing a garden home to hundreds of Laos’ butterflies. (Note: closed on Tuesday).

Return to the hotel and relax until 16:00 pm.

DAY 5 - LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVES - KAMU LODGE(B/L/D)

Luang Prabang – Kamu Lodge by boat: 3 hours (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included

After breakfast, embark on a cruise along the Mekong River to the Kamu Lodge. Stop at the Pak Ou Caves (Tam Ting as referred by locals) on the way to see the unique caves being carved out from towering limestone cliffs, which contains thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues.

Continue along the river for another hour to reach the The Kamu Lodge, which features 20 private canvas tents, each being protected from the elements by a thatched roof. The tents are also decorated with bamboo and wooden furniture allowing the Lodge's grounds to harmoniously blend with surrounding nature. Private bathrooms with solar powered hot water and electricity are installed in all the tents.

In the afternoon, participate in a variety of local activities:

Rice planting and harvesting in surrounding rice fields
Gold panning (January to June) in the Mekong
Traditional fishing techniques in the Mekong
Local village visit and encounters
Dinner and overnight at the Lodge


DAY 6 - KAMU LODGE - LUANG PRABANG(B/L)

Kamu Lodge – Luang Prabang by boat: 3 hours (Breakfast & Lunch included)

Enjoy breakfast and the remain of the morning. (check-out time: 10:30)

After lunch at the Lodge, the boat will depart around 14:00 for the cruise down to Luang Prabang.
