Your Angkor discovery journey starts with a leisurely tour to iconic temple sites. Marvel at the huge smiling faces of Bayon, impressive naga-carrying giant statues fronting the gates of Angkor Thom and the atmospheric Ta Prohm covered with jungle vines. Besides, a highlight of your day is a visit to the jewel of Angkor, Banteay Srei.
In the morning, start the tour to visit Banteay Srei, the exquisite ‘Women’s Citadel’. Located 32 km from Siem Reap town, this was Cambodia’s last major Khmer temple to be re-discovered. Then, visit the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees. It has been left in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue the tour to visit Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain–lake. Continue to visit Preah Khan, also built by King Jayavarman VII. And also visit Ta Som is a small Buddhist temple dedicated to the father of King Jayavarman VII and East Mebon which is a 10th Century temple Built during the reign of King Rajendravarman, stands on what was an artificial island at the center of the now dry East Baray reservoir.
